We realize she is slightly creepy. . .Wednesday (Adams family) she’s been called. . . but her name is Aimee, by Don Wagy, resident of Anderson, SC. We acquired her from the Annual Juried Arts Show, Chris and I fell in love with at exactly the same time, and then the heart stoppingly low price, we just had to bring her home. . .
Love the mannerist distortion, the cool undertones, the strange colors, her blue gaze and the awkward frame I might not have chosen. . . though somehow it just goes. Good job Don.

Fascinated by how strange these foods look photographed and how delicious they taste. Banana pudding (not the box mind you, vanilla custard from scratch actually, that happens to have bananas in it) for my husband, and grilled stuffed portabellos with a balsamic reduction. . . happy Father’s day beginning today my dear. I love you, and you will get an amazing cheeseburger on Sunday. . .

The air has come in like a jungle and the sun blazes on and on and on. Thank goodness our ac in the car was just fixed friday! What luxury!
The humidity has invited these most elegant fungi to rise out of the ground, they are a lot sleeker and fresher looking than the zillions we find in the fall. And so big! They could fill a frying pan like a flapjack . The cat, Bill, insists on participation and flirts with the camera as usual. . .
Some other amazingly designed objects, the work of Carl Aubock, seen on Hoping for Happy Accidents. . .

The reclining teenagers of Nava Revital discovered while reading the NY Arts Magazine reviews. I wish I was a reclining teenager right about now. . .
Still chipping away at finishing the last minute details at the studio. . . now I have to go take my poor dear cat to the vet, he has rotting thumbs!

Everything is so green, wet and shining. Bursting at the veins with life. Above the strange tree outside my kitchen window, below, a little variety of jade plant that resembles coral. And a fuzzy birdie the cats like to steal and tussle with. Oh my! and the fabulous herb cart that sfgirlbybay has!
Spending hours preparing the gallery. . . oi. . . so much more work ahead of me! Its looking so good, but alas, I wish we had a bit more art to spread around. . . we need one more artist in that empty studio. . . any takers? A painter perhaps?

Cornelia O’donavon, epitome of whimsy, the patterns in the birds and flowers are fabulous. Not to mention the inclusion of hot pink in the crazy rabbit one. Her shop and blog. Thank you dear ada as usual for the sighting.

Seraphine Lois, french folk artist, her life story subject of a movie I just watched at the suggestion of my dear friend Annalisa. Really beautiful film and such a fascinating character. I’d love to see her work in person, the paintings nearly dance.
