A few weeks ago I found this shrug on Wool and the Gang, in their online kit shop. I love the texture, and the design but honestly I’m not really into the idea of buying the kit. . . also, confession, I don’t really enjoy knitting. Its hard for me to keep count and harder to fix mistakes, actually let’s talk about why I like crocheting much better. . .only one tool to keep track of, only one loop to keep on it, and its so easy to invent things and uninvent them if need be. I found a tutorial on the loop knitting stitch, and then found yay! a crochet one. Here is the video I watched, I paused it alot. And watched it at least six times. But they only show you one row. All the loops are formed on the back, and when you turn it, well, the same stitch doesn’t quite work right. And single crocheting the next row doesn’t let the loops get as dense as I hoped. So I experimented quite alot and finally discovered that when the second row comes around you have to go down into the stitch and out the front (instead of under the stitch from the front, catching the loop on the back) and then catch the loop the same as the video shows you. I’m not sure if I like it that loopy, but that can be fixed. Think of the possibilities! A furry pillow, a cowl, a shaggy purse, a fluffy owl, and maybe soon, a tea cozy. That should keep my tea warm for a while!
