A collection of long and thin

Today was free of distraction, the little boy was in his glory at his beloved aunt and uncle’s house having more fun than I could provide in a month of Saturday. I worked with Chris at the chilly studio, glazed chickadees in shades of gray-green, coated a family of little frames in thick pale peach and tan paint and now I sit at home scratching out many long lines. I love the way pine looks drawn out, but holy cow, it is mind boggling to accomplish. These will be a background for an two encaustic pieces, that need to be done by the end of the month and I have no idea what I am doing. But I think I’m going to like it. And I know that I like this giant aquamarine vase that is holding my pine, given to me by Erin, the beloved aunt I spoke of.
Two other things I like. . . this contest that is an old tradition, face pulling! so delightfully funny and the ridiculous beard and mustache contests, how do you go about kissing one of these gentlemen?
