So it turns out since my mom is here I actually do have more time to work on art and post. . .

Since I took these photos of the pieces in progress, I have actually finished them and they await several coats of glossy varnish.  Yes, I did draw the fantasy rainbow violets from life. . .they were blooming bright and sweet under the tired fig tree, its few leaves withered and speckled.  And yes I was inspired by the James Jean book. . .

Very elegant and pretty. Love how the colors pop against the black & white drawings. Hope you guys have a great Halloween!

these are gorgeous, I love the way the drawing spills round the edges of the canvas. What size are they?

hey suzie, so glad you stopped by our blog, i love finding the blogs of other artists! they are 4″x 4″, i love taking drawings over the edge, i like the added dimension. . .

thanks for the halloween wishes will, honestly, i am battling bronchitis and a sinus infection so we didn’t really do much, and our two year old is terrified of masks. . . maybe next year, hope yours was better!

Hope you get over your sickness soon Annie! I don’t usually do much for Halloween as a holiday, but my brother’s birthday is the 31st so we usually do something special for him in lieu of trick or treating.
