Annie and I are so excited for a joint show coming up at Grace Centre in Fletcher, NC. We’ll be exhibiting many new drawings, paintings and prints of—you guessed it—plants and animals. We just love our botany and zoology.
The dates are Feb.21—Mar.23 and the opening reception will be Saturday Feb.21 7:30—9:00pm. We’re so excited!

Just recently did this poster for a really great band from Atlanta, The Winter Sounds. They’re playing a FREE all-ages show here in Greenville, SC at the Mellow Mushroom on March 7.
I plan on making it for some great pizza and some great music. Woo! Join the fun and bring your friends!

Local photographer Jeff Hall made a visit yesterday to pick up a framed print of my FOCA painting (thanks again, Jeff!). Jeff has begun a fantastic photo project for this year, called Today’s Black and White, to help raise money to fight against child sex trafficking. From Jeff:
“…I am making every shot I post available to purchase as a print. 100% of the print sales will be donated to Free Chains, a non-profit organization that is fighting the Child Sex Trade all over the US and Worldwide. I realize some of these shots will be portraits and may not be ones you want to buy, but you can always buy a print of an earlier photo!”
Sorry kids, this is one of those portraits you probably won’t want to buy (except, of course, for you, Mom). Just be sure to keep your eye out for a new photo each day and support the very worthy cause.

Happy New Year!
This little gem of an etching/aquatint of Annie’s is from back in the day. Done sometime in 2003 (6 years ago now? Jeez, happy new year, indeed!). In fact, this may have been her first etching ever. I love this print dearly. After she did it, I made her give me one when we were in college. Note her signature, pre-Koelleified. Ha. Now I’m surrounded by her gorgeous artwork 24/7 for the rest of my life.
